The first Finnish American Lutheran congregation in the USA was founded December 21, 1872 in Calumet, Michigan. In the handwritten original document its name was Solomon Kortiniemi Lutheran Society. In the printed documents (in Articles of Association) and (in Certificate of Incorporation) the name was changed to Salomon Kortetniemi Lutheran Society, as you see below:
